For many, spring is a season of sunshine, blossoms, and welcome warmth. Singer and author Ellie Holcomb sees all of that, too -- but she also sees something more: a divine invitation to share the hope of the gospel.

Holcomb's new children's book, Spring Sings (B&H), points readers to the natural world, where trees, grass, and countless other living things wake up each spring from winter and paint a powerful picture of the gospel -- for children but for adults, too. Laura Ramos illustrated it. Holcomb also released an accompanying album of children's songs, Sing: Spring Songs

It is Holcomb's fourth children's book.

"Spring Sings is really a book about the song that creation sings every year that reminds us that death is never the end of the story because of Jesus," Holcomb told Crosswalk Headlines.

Families can "literally look out the window and see evidence of the gospel story," she added.

Although Spring Sings technically is an Easter book, Holcomb calls it an "all-seasons book."
