Juliane Koepcke was a German Peruvian high school senior student studying in Lima, intending to become a zoologist, like her parents. She and her mother, ornithologist Maria Kopecke, were traveling to meet with her father, biologist Hans-Wilhelm Koepcke, who was working in the city of Pucallpa. The airplane was struck by lightning during a severe thunderstorm and broke up in mid-air, disintegrating at 10,000 ft. Koepcke, who was seventeen years old, fell to earth still strapped into her seat.

Designed by a group of visionary engineers including Joseph Straus, at 4,200-feet long of actual suspension span, the Golden Gate was at one time the longest suspension bridge in the world—but today, it’s not even in the top ten. While the world-famous bridge was named as one of the seven wonders of the modern world, few know the history behind its construction and the brave men known as the “halfway to hell club.”

By the age of 10, Tracy was already contemplating suicide to escape a short life full of terrifying emotional and physical abuse. By 14, she was using alcohol and was soon trapped by illegal drugs too. Desperate and searching for help and hope, she turned on the television and found a preacher.

F. F. Bosworth visited the Azusa Revival and then had a tremendous world-wide healing ministry through the 1920s to the 1950's. His life is worth studying.
