Breakout Teen Sensation Tate Butts Gives His Generation 'Something To Believe In' With Debut EP

Teen sensation Tate Butts releases his debut project, Something To Believe In, out now. Less than a year since his viral debut single, “My Defender,” quickly gained traction across streaming and social platforms, Butts delivers seven tracks showcasing his signature blend of faith-rooted messages backed by a pop-forward sound. With the EP entirely co-written by the South Carolina native at just 14 years old, Butts is building a purpose-driven platform devoted to reaching the next generation through his uplifting music.

“This EP means so much to me because every song is a reminder that God loves us and is always there for us,” shares Butts. “No matter what is happening in life, as long as we have God, we always have something to believe in.”

Something To Believe In traces Butts' personal faith journey, highlighting his trust in God and the purposeful plan He has built for his life. Previously released tracks, including breakout hit, “My Defender,” the empowering “Brought Me This Far” and just-released “When I Pray” gave fans an early preview of the highly anticipated EP. All-new songs “Hideaway,” “I'm Gonna Sing,” “Shadow” and “Coulda Woulda Shoulda” round out the vulnerable collection.

Butts keeps the momentum rolling with recent release (6/26) “SOMEBODY PRAYED,” a powerful duet with contemporary Christian hitmaker Forrest Frank. Butts joined Frank's recent headline show at Nashville's Geodis Park for a high-energy performance of the new track to a packed-out crowd. Watch the performance here.

In addition to a co-sign from Frank, the rising artist continues to see support from crossover superstar Brandon Lake after joining him for a performance on stage and making a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show for a live interview and performance.

With Something To Believe In, the emerging artist marks the beginning of a promising road ahead, building on his 30M global streams garnered since his debut single “My Defender” debuted at No. 38 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart just last year.
