The world is a lost, hectic and chaotic place. Trying to find any semblance of peace and comfort in such a frenzied and disorderly location is a near impossibility. Those who do choose to put their faith and trust in things of this world will be tossed from here to there as they constantly search for something, anything to hold onto and rely upon.

There are instances and situations in this life, as you’ve likely already discovered, that could drive even the most sane and grounded person crazy. Life will throw you curveballs, often painful and heart-wrenching ones that completely turn your life upside down. But it’s during those moments when we feel beyond lost, confused, unsure and feel immense pain that we can be assured that He is still at work. When everything around us is crumbling, we can have faith that He will work it out. We can have peace amongst the storms.

That’s precisely what MercyMe sings about with their tune “Make It Well.” Not everything is going to be perfect in life; far, far from it. But regardless of what happens or what we encounter, He is still God, and we can know that He is still in control.

It is amazing to see how Christian artists craft songs that express personal testimonies and communicate Biblical messages. It is so special when we have the opportunity to see the words that were written and reflect on them. Watch as Matthew West’s uplifting and powerful ‘Good’ gets a lyric video. 

At the start of the clip, we see Matthew in the dark, sitting on a chair and playing guitar as he begins the song. The lyrics pop up at the bottom of the screen for you to join in or reflect on the words. At first, you think the song is about falling short and is more focused on humanity’s sin.

Sometimes we can get caught up in the trials of this world and the heartache that can come our way in life. Back in 2022, TobyMac released his album Life After Death, which came from the singer-songwriter wrestling with the emotional turmoil that followed the death of his 21-year-old son, Truett. Three years later, TobyMac released his next album titled Heaven On My Mind.

“My last record was just facing things no one should have to face…the deepest, heart-crushing you could ever have in losing my first-born son, but I felt like this record was me gaining my footing a bit. Realizing, ‘Okay, I can breathe, and I can get my fist up in the air about things I believe in,’” said TobyMac.

When talking about the title track, TobyMac shared: “‘Heaven On My Mind’ is this journey of going from total ashes to crawling to walking to standing up. It was me figuring out how to relate to God again, leading to all these questions, and ultimately something beautiful. I have a deeper relationship with God than I’ve ever had, because I walked through the valley with Him, and I decided I trusted Him.”

Suddenly, we see this young boy run up to the edge of the cliff to grasp onto a long cord hanging down from the sky. We see Taylor Hill gathering with a village of people to sing about finally being alive and setting the world on fire.

This fun video shows people sitting together in the back of a truck dancing and celebrating. Everyone has so much fun. The picture goes back to the boy bringing the floating plug and the men showing him where to plug it into.

We suddenly get a glimpse of the boy’s mom, and she tells him to let his light shine. The boy smiles and shines his light. He plugs in the electricity and starts a big celebration among the people as they cheer and dance. 

Then, the little boy smiles. The world zooms out, and you see all of these lights around the world. Suddenly, the video says, “Introduces Yoneury - A Compassion Child from the Dominican Republic.”

Where would you and I be without the forgiveness, love, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ? That terrifying thought brings up a whole host of scenarios and possibilities we’d rather not imagine. We’d still be lost, living in sin and shame, destined to be separated from Him for all eternity. We’d have no hope and no future.

But we have hope and a future because of His unending, incredible love and undeserved forgiveness. He made the ultimate sacrifice, willingly laying down His life for us, even while we were still sinners. Because of that, our sins can be washed away, and we can experience eternal life with Him. Praise His name!

In a clip posted on YouTube, Lauren beautifully sings “Let it Be a Hallelujah,” proclaiming that He deserves all glory, honor and praise in every situation. Her powerful, moving lyrics beautifully and articulately express how, regardless of the situation or what we might be going through, every part of us should be constantly praising Him for what He has done.

As the song also mentions, no matter what we encounter or go through, He will remain faithful, staying by our side in every instance. When we fall and stumble and during life’s victories and highs, He is faithful through it all.

He is more than worthy of all our praise and worship; even then, that will still fall way short.

Phil Wickham releases a powerful ‘Homesick for Heaven’ performance video, and it will leave you undone in all the best ways possible. I don’t know about you, but I’ve come to realize that no matter how hard we try, no matter how perfectly we plan or fiercely we pray, life has a way of falling short.

We raise our babies with love-soaked prayers and messy grace. We try to be present. We try to be strong. We pour everything into this life of ordinary miracles and unspoken heartache. But then the unexpected hits: grief, disappointment, confusion, loss.

And we feel it—that hollow space in our soul that nothing in this world can quite reach. But then I heard ‘Homesick for Heaven,’ and I had to sit down because it stitched every part of my heart together, and I couldn’t help but dance.

I used to think I was just tired. Or overwhelmed. Or maybe not doing enough. But now I know better. That soft spot in my soul isn’t weariness—it’s homesickness. It’s a longing for what we were created for.

There’s something about those words that reaches the soul of every mama who’s cried herself to sleep for her child whether they’re 13 or 30. Every person who’s lost someone too soon. Every heart that feels like it doesn’t quite belong here.

Because we don’t.

We were made for more. We were made for Home. And Phil’s lyrics remind us with such tenderness that our King—the One who wears our scars—is waiting. And we’ll get to run into His arms.

As a mom of three, that line just undid me. Because when I picture heaven, I don’t just imagine golden streets or angel choirs—I imagine my kids whole and unburdened. I imagine dancing with my daughter without her autism holding her back. I imagine no more therapy, no more doctor visits, no more fear.

Just Jesus. Just wholeness. Just… Home.

“In my Father's house there are many rooms / Enough for everyone, enough for you…”

And isn’t that the grace of it all? That it’s not just poetic—it’s promised. Jesus said it with His own words and Homesick for Heaven echoes that hope.

Phil reminds us we don’t need to fear the ache. We can let it point us toward the Promise. We can let it draw us into a deeper knowing that this life isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning.

So the next time you feel that cavern in your soul, that yearning for something more, don’t try to fill it with busy. Don’t numb it with noise.

Let it ache.

Let it remind you: this isn’t all there is.

You were made for a place your heart already knows.

You were made for a King who already calls you His.

Front and center, Chandler Moore is dressed in a gold, black, and white jacket. He wears a white T-shirt and khaki pants. Chandler gets the crowd excited! He engages them with clapping, chanting, jumping, and dancing. And why not! This huge group of God-loving folks is together to celebrate Jesus! 

The first verse begins at 23 seconds, and it’s Brandon Lake who sings now. He sings the lyrics about praising in the valley and on the mountain when he’s certain and when he’s doubting. The words appear on the screen, so it’s nearly impossible not to sing along. A pastor’s kid from South Carolina, Brandon has two tattoo sleeves and a heart for Jesus. 

Chris Brown, wearing a baggy brown sweater and jeans, takes the second verse beginning at 1:15. He declares the power of praise in every situation, likening the activity of praise to a weapon. The lyrics reference the Battle of Jericho, in which the city’s walls tumbled to the ground after God directed the Israelites to march around Jericho’s walls while playing trumpets and shouting.     

After another verse sung by Brandon Lake, the remaining minutes of the performance bring together the three artists—all accompanied by numerous backup singers and instrumentalists also on stage. However, it’s not just those on stage that are singing and dancing. The entire crowd is participating in this jubilant and joyous expression of praise!

This performance and song are super impactful. Check out just a few of the nearly 1,300 comments from viewers of the video, which has now been viewed 1.7 million times! Connecting with believers and those that aren’t. Reaching troubled souls and providing refreshment. Demonstrating the joy of a relationship with Jesus. Well, those things are most assuredly worthy of praise!

“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.” Psalms 150:1-2

Acting and following God when the path forward is murky takes a tremendous amount of faith. In life, circumstances will test and stretch our faith in ways never imagined. One song is about acting, following and listening to God even when the next step is entirely unknown.

“Desert Road” by Casting Crowns is about those times and experiences in life when the path forward is a mystery, but choosing, in faith, to follow God’s direction.

The songwriter mentions being on a desert road with doubts, and questioning God. The lyrics ask God if this plan, which remains unclear at this point, is really what He intended. 

Nevertheless, the songwriter puts their fears and doubts aside and steps out in faith. They are relying on their belief that God is still in control. He knows the plan and that’s good enough for them.

“I don’t know where this is going
But I know who holds my hand
It’s not the path I would have chosen, but I’ll follow you to the end”

The beautiful words so eloquently and concisely describe following and listening to God’s direction at times. 

The song also mentions that perhaps the songwriter had shifted their focus and was leaning on their own knowledge and understanding. The songwriter, in this situation filled with unknowns, admits their error and is ready to listen and follow God’s plan once again. 

In addition to the song’s beautiful lyrics about stepping out and acting in faith, the song’s video is also gorgeous. Viewers are treated to big, sweeping views of desert landscapes and massive rock formations. 

As the lyrics remind us and the images in the video reiterates, even out in the desert, God is still in control and knows the way forward and we must trust Him.

Carrie Underwood sings a heartfelt rendition of ‘Go Rest High On That Mountain’ in honor of Vince Gill.

‘Go Rest High On That Mountain’ was made famous by Vince back in the 1990s. He started writing the song back in 1989 after the death of fellow country artist Keith Whitley.

Despite being inspired to write down the lyrics, it would take years before Vince was able to finally finish the special tune. Once the song was released, it quickly climbed to the top of the music charts.

‘Go Rest High On That Mountain’ went on to win 2 Grammy awards and the Country Music Association's Song of the Year award in 1996. Over the years, the lyrics of the song have provided peace and comfort to many hearts around the world.
