New census data seems to support President Trump’s concerns about how much immigrants are costing the nation.

The Washington Examiner reports the Census Bureau found a majority - 63 percent - of “non-citizens” are using welfare programs.

That number is expected to increase to a full 70 percent in the next 10 years. The Center for Immigration Studies said in its report that the numbers support Trump’s plan to cut non-citizens off welfare if they want a green card that allows them to legally work in the United States.

The report said that there are nearly 4.7 million non-citizen households receiving welfare with about half of those in the United States illegally.
