Dick Van Dyke's Side-Splitting Role as Encyclopedia Salesman in Carol Burnett Sketch

The iconic Dick Van Dyke brought the laughs by playing the role of an encyclopedia salesman in another hilarious sketch on The Carol Burnett Show. The Carol Burnett Show was a legendary comedic program that boasted terrific writing and had one of the best casts youll ever see on a television show. Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and Vicki Lawrence never failed to make audiences laugh. Often, they even had their fellow castmates burst into laughter. But it wasnt just the shows regular cast that would have audiences laughing hysterically. The show often had some of the biggest names in comedy make guest appearances, including the iconic legendary Dick Van Dyke. In a sketch posted on YouTube, Dick plays an encyclopedia salesman who picked quite possibly the worst time to visit Harvey and Carol. Carol and Harvey play a married couple who are having a massive fight, and Dick finds himself in the middle of it. Throughout the laugh-out-loud clip, Dick takes a beating. Hes hit, pushed, shoved and even finds himself thrown over a balcony. But like any good salesman, Dick is determined and persistent, willing to go through anything to make the sale. Near the end of the clip, Carol and Harvey have made up and put their disagreements aside. They have also agreed to help Dick and want to purchase his most expensive set of encyclopedias for all his trouble. However, just like everything else in the clip, this sale still does not work out for him. He once again literally finds himself in the middle of a domestic dispute. This clip features some of the most talented people to ever appear on television. Carol, Harvey and Dick are all legends. But its Dick that shines brightest here as he demonstrates his skills in the comedic arts! Job 8:21 The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.

Comedian Angel Gaines' Hilarious Take on Teaching Challenges Will Have You in Stitches

Angel Gaines, a teacher and a comedian, hilariously recalled some of the challenges she has encountered in the classroom while interacting with her students. Teaching is an important and noble profession. The men and women who work in education are literally teaching the next generation. What those men and women do in the classroom, what and how they teach those kids, will have consequences for decades to come. But as most people understand, trying to reach and teach children anything is not an easy task. Most kids have small, minute attention spans and a need to get up and move around and explore their surroundings. However, those are not the only challenges when it comes to teaching kids as Angel hysterically mentioned in a clip posted on YouTube. As Angel states, one of her most difficult daily tasks involves reading and spelling her students names. According to Angel, Millennials are getting way too creative with their childrens names. After a glance at one of the names on her classroom roll, Angel, given how the childrens name was spelled, had a hilarious but relatable question for the young woman. I looked at the roster, I said, Baby, is this your name or your mommas computer password? Angel said. Later in the hilarious clip, Angel talked about an argument she got into with one of her students. It involved Jonah, the whale that swallowed him and where the student and the teacher will spend eternity. Teaching is a wonderful and immensely important profession. We need all the good and dedicated educators that we can get. But as Angel hilariously points out, the men and women who choose to go into that field will need plenty of patience and a willingness to learn alternative spellings to common names. James 3:1 Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachers will be judged more hardly than others.

'Home Alone' Actress Catherine O'Hara Reveals Comical Parenting Critique She Got

Actress Catherine OHara, who played Kevins mother in the Home Alone films, revealed the hilarious parenting critique she received from an unlikely source. All families have holiday traditions they partake in every Christmas season. Some enjoy decorating the tree together. Others may wrap presents or make a special dish or sugary treat together. But no matter what families do, all have movies they must watch every single year. If that doesnt happen, can it be considered the Christmas season? Now, likely a popular choice for those annual Christmastime viewings are the Home Alone films. As most people know, those films are about a young boy mistakenly left alone by his family and must defend himself against a pair of bumbling, dimwitted criminals. In a clip posted on TikTok, Catherine mentioned that she had a hysterical encounter with an 8-year-old in a shopping mall who gave her a dressing down about her lack of parenting skills in those films. Are you Kevins mom? Catherine recalls the child asking. I said, Well yeah, I played Kevins mom in a movie, yes. But the fact that Catherines parenting or lack of Kevin took place in a movie and wasnt real still didnt sit well with this child. Why did you leave him? the child asked her. Sorry, it was in the script, Catherine responded to her child interrogator. So, you left him twice. I know, Im sorry. As Catherine points out, the youngster then accused her of abandoning her child. This is a hilarious example that shows that movies mean different things to different people. Some people watch the Home Alone films and see a hilarious comedy about a child using creative and inventive ways to protect himself while putting a couple of criminals through the wringer. Others watch it and see a sorry excuse of a mother who continually leaves her child behind during Christmas. Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Comedian Mike James Hilarious 'Secret' To Marriage And Game He Never Wins

Comedian Mike James has been married for 35 years. In this video, he talks and laughs about the secret to his marriage and the game he and his wife play that he never wins. Mike makes a joke about how he is not sure what the secret of marriage is but that he has never been divorced and that it looks like too much paperwork. He talks about how when he was first married he was deployed a lot with the military, and now he is on the road as a comedian. He and his wife have to have a lot of quality time together to make things work as they dont have a lot of time together. They have date nights, such as going out for dinner. And when they do, his wifes rule is that it cant be one of the first seven places he suggested. He got a big laugh for that one. Sometimes he and his wife stay in and play games. His wifes favorite game is, Guess why Im upset? Thats a hoot, Mike says, Ive never beat her. 35 years, Ive never won. Not one time. Im not even sure what the rules are. That one got a big laugh too. Marriage isnt easy and it does take a lot of work. But you have to laugh about it. Having a sense of humor, good communication, and relying on God will go a long way in having a long and healthy marriage. While Mike jokes a lot about his marriage, it is clear that he loves his wife and enjoys bringing her up in his bits. Men and women can be so different, but finding ways to connect is so important. Why they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder. - Matthew 19:6

Comedian Hilariously Recounts Terrifying Experience At Florida Theme Parks

One comedian, Marty Simpson, took his family to the theme parks in central Florida for a week, and as he hilariously details, it sounds like they wont be making a return trip any time soon. Central Florida is essentially the theme park capital of the world. Of course, Disney World and its four parks Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are the main draw to that part of the Sunshine State. But there are also the Universal Studios parks, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld in that same area. Millions of people every year visit those parks, including comedian Marty Simpson and his family. Instead of one of the most magical and happy experiences of his life, Marty has a different way of referring to his familys 7-day trip to Disney World and SeaWorld. So my 10 and 7 year old were that age when we took them to Disney for the first time, Marty said. We took them to Disney and SeaWorld for 7 days. And I refer to these 7 days like it were the 7 days I spent in Vietnam. Its safe to say that he is not a fan of theme parks! He mentioned that he and his family stayed at one of Disneys resorts near the parks. He stated that he had to constantly remind his children that they were not the only people staying at the resort. But the most hilarious part of his bit about his familys Florida trip was riding a terrifying roller coaster at SeaWorld. His young daughter, who he calls a little daredevil, got him on a roller coaster. Marty, as he hilariously states, has a massive fear of heights. While on the coaster, to distract himself from the horrible and frightening experience, Marty began reciting the Lords Prayer. Of course, his daughter wanted to do it again. But he gave her a definitive and straightforward answer: No. Theme parks, with all their fast-paced and huge drops, are not for everybody. Theme parks are not for Marty! Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy heart, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Tim Conway As The Oldest Man On Ship Is Hysterical In Carol Burnett Show Sketch

The legendary Tim Conway as the Oldest Man flexed his comedic muscles in another classic and hilarious skit from The Carol Burnett Show. The Carol Burnett Show was a program that featured an all-star cast Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Vicki Lawrence. The writing on the program was also top-notch, placing the shows talented cast of comedians in zany and off-the-wall situations. Those are the two reasons the writing and the cast why the classic skits keep people laughing even decades after the show ended its run on television. A clip posted on YouTube features Tim and Harvey as two slaves on a ship forced to row the boat as their menacing and unforgiving taskmasters keep a close eye on them. The sketch begins with Harvey sitting in the front row, who is whipped for failing to keep up the pace. Harvey states that because he has no partner, hes unable to keep up with everyone else. His taskmasters solution to Harveys dilemma is Tim as The Oldest Man. Tim enters, and the laughs start immediately. Tim slowly makes his way to his seat next to Harvey, who is already cracking up, even before his new partner takes his seat. The Oldest Man introduces himself to Harvey. They shake hands, and Tim gives Harvey some information that would have been helpful a few seconds earlier. Hi, Im a leper, Tim tells Harvey. The studio audience roars with laughter. Later into the skit, lunch is served. One of the taskmasters throws bread down at Tims feet and informs him he has 30 seconds for lunch. Tims only option to get the bread is to use his feet. This hilarious maneuver has the entire audience and Harvey reacting with laughs. Anytime Tim and Harvey were put in a skit together, it was always a good time, filled with some of the most ridiculous situations and tons of laughs. This clip is no exception to that rule! Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Carol Burnett And Harvey Korman Star In Hilarious Skit About Misunderstandings

Carol Burnett And Harvey Korman put their comedic talents to good use in another hysterical skit about misunderstandings from The Carol Burnett Show. Its always a good idea to talk things out and discuss anything of importance or significance. Proper communication is a must for any and every relationship to function correctly. Communication issues can lead to problems, hurt feelings and misunderstandings. In a clip posted on YouTube, Carol and Harvey play a husband and a wife who experience issues with their communication. Their lack of proper communication leads to tears for Carol but still provides the audience with plenty of laughs. The skit begins with an upset and frustrated Carol sitting on the couch reading the newspaper upside down. Something is clearly bothering her. When she finally tells her sister whats the matter, she reveals that she has convinced herself that her husband is involved with another woman. Carol goes into the bedroom to cry and ponder her perceived marital troubles. Moments later, Harvey enters the house, he has been in a wreck with another woman. The car has suffered damage. Boy, the nerve of some people, Harvey says. There I was minding my own business, and wham! He adds that some dame just hit me at the intersection. Halfway through the clip, Carol enters the room. Harvey and Carol have a conversation. But everything that Harvey says about his earlier wreck could also apply to the extramarital affair that Carol believes is taking place. But the funniest part of the entire skit happens right before it ends. Harvey has left the room, and Carol answers the door. Its the woman who hit Harveys vehicle, dropping off her insurance information. But she is wearing a coat that conceals her stomach. As she does, she states that she is there to talk about her little accident with Carols husband. The woman is pregnant, and Carol passes out following the reveal. Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

Steve Martin, Dick Van Dyke And Betty White Hysterical Appearances On The Carol Burnett Show

The Carol Burnett Show sported an all-star cast made up of legendary comedians and, from time to time, also attracted notable guests like Betty White, Steve Martin and Dick Van Dyke. Over the years, many shows have hit the airwaves trying to provide audiences with laughter and a momentary escape from reality. Some have been more successful than others. But very few, only a handful of television programs, have gone on to become classics. The Carol Burnett Show still manages to keep people laughing even decades after it last aired. One of the main reasons The Carol Burnett Show continues to make people laugh is because of its incredibly talented cast, including Tim Conway and Carol Burnett. But in select episodes, other comedians and comedic actors popped up on the show. A clip posted on YouTube features some of those hysterical celebrity guest appearances. The clip begins with Steve Martin trying to expand his audience, trying to appeal specifically to dogs. He says that he has come up with comedy that mans best friend will appreciate. Now, a lot of dogs watch TV, but theres nothing really on that they can enjoy, maybe a couple of commercials, and thats about it, Steve said. So, I ve worked up a comedy act for dogs. Steves bit even has several dogs sitting in front of him so he can test how well his act is going. But things go about as well as can be expected. Later in the clip, Betty White and Carol appear in a Mamas Family skit. Betty and Carol get into an argument that is overheard by Mama. That doesnt work out well for anyone. Finally, Dick Van Dyke and Carol sing a song together. Dick, following the lyrics of the song, then dumps paint on Carol. Eventually, the two legendary comedians break out into laughter. Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Tim Hawkins’s Hysterical ‘God Bless You Chick-fil-A’ Tune

Comedian Tim Hawkins always manages to get audiences rolling with laughter and has done so again with his hilarious God Bless You Chick-fil-A song. Nearly every single fast-food restaurant in existence has some type of chicken sandwich. It may be regular, spicy, breaded or grilled. No matter how the chicken is cooked and prepared, chicken placed between two pieces of bread is almost always a good time, making for an excellent meal. However, as much as Americans love their chicken sandwiches, one place towers over all the others. You wont find many fast-food joints where people are willing to sit and wait like they do for Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A is considered to have one of the best chicken sandwiches spicy and regular. In a clip posted on YouTube, Tim sings about the beloved restaurant and its delectable chicken offerings. The song, a parody of Lee Greenwoods classic God Bless the USA, is laugh-out-loud funny as Tim expertly incorporates Chick-fil-As menu into the tune. And Id grab that sandwich, take a bite And put it back down on the tray Cause there aint no doubt, I love this place God bless you, Chick-fil-A Not only does he sing about the restaurants menu items, but mentions the fast-food chains customer base, spanning the entire country, from New York to LA. He also adds lyrics about how the restaurant is famously closed on Sundays. Tim is a comedic genius. He constantly takes something in society that everyone is familiar with and turns it into comedy gold, sending audiences into fits of uncontrollable laughter. His songs, anecdotes and bits are always so incredibly entertaining and witty, putting smiles on the faces of the masses. You cant listen to any of his songs or stand-up routine and not leave in a much better mood. Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Comedian’s Hilarious Experiences Working With Children In Church

A comedian, Christy Conder, who also serves in her churchs childrens ministry, has had some hysterical experiences with children while trying to teach them about God and His word. If you want to know the truth about something, ask a child. Children are extremely honest and willing to say and do things that most adults would not. The filter between their thoughts and the words that come out of their mouth does not function at 100 percent yet. Children also have a unique way of looking at things, and given their inquisitive minds, children will ask some honest and sometimes uncomfortable questions. In a clip posted on YouTube, Christy recalls some of these hilarious interactions with children. One specific instance involves a question she received about the story of David and Bathsheba in the Old Testament. I love teaching kids about God because they also have some great observations, she said. Like, I got this one time, Hey, Ms. Christy, if David had seen Bathsheba in the show, would she have been Showersheba? Another hilarious but innocent and honest question Christy got was from two little girls about the parting of the Red Sea. And then I had two little girls come up to me one time and go, Ms. Christy, you remember when Moses crossed over the Red Sea? Yes. Do you remember when Pharaoh came in after them? Yeah. And you remember the water all came down on Pharaoh, and they all died? Yeah. Does that mean the horses died, too? She also added that some games played in childrens church are changed slightly to give them more of a Bible and church feel and sound. As Christy hilarious points out, and as any parent knows, children have a knack for looking at issues and situations and making unique, often hilarious observations. Proverbs 22:6 If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it.

Carol Burnett And Tim Conway Star In Funny Soap Opera Sketch

Two comedic legends, Carol Burnett and Tim Conway, bring the laughs once again as they star in yet another hilarious skit from the beloved and classic Carol Burnett Show. Soap operas are, for some reason, a television staple. Despite the terrible, over-the-top acting and the horrible writing, a segment of the population still faithfully watches them. Given the bad acting and poor writing, soap operas are easy and obvious targets for mockery and ridicule. In a clip posted on YouTube, The Carol Burnett Show took aim at soap operas, mocking everything that makes those awful, over-the-top television programs memorable. Carol, Tim and even Harvey Korman appear in their faux soap opera, As the Stomach Turns. The hysterical skit begins with Carol sitting at a table pouring herself a cup of tea while a man provides a voice-over, giving viewers a recap about what happened since the last episode of As the Stomach Turns. Seconds into the skit, Tim, dressed as an elderly man, makes his slow, steady and uproarious entrance into the room. Eventually, after much effort, Tim sits down in a chair. Carol and Tim have a difficult discussion. She informs him that hes being placed in a nursing home. He doesnt accept the news well and attempts to run away. But dont worry, he doesnt get too far! Vicki Lawrence enters the room as the teenage temptress and throws a wrench into everything. Soon enough, she becomes the object of desire for every man in As the Stomach Turns, even Tims elderly, 91-year-old character. The entire sketch is absolutely fantastic, providing audiences with a ton of laughs. At one point, Carol and Harvey break character, unable to contain their laughter at Tims insane and hilarious antics. But the highlight of the entire 14-minute skit is likely Tims slow-motion fall down the stairs. Much like The Carol Burnett Show, Tims fall is hysterical! Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Comedian Tim Hawkins's Hilarious Tune About The Junk Drawer

Christian comedian Tim Hawkins has released a hysterical song about something we all have in our house somewhere: the much-despised junk drawer. Everyone, whether they want to admit it, is a hoarder. It may not be to a degree where specialists must be called in to assist in cleaning up the mess. However, nearly everyone holds on to things, for one reason or another, that they do not need. As everyone knows, these useless but held-onto items all find their way to the same location. The junk drawer, wherever its in your house, is where those items reside. When placing them into that drawer, we make ourselves believe theyll come in handy someday. But everyone knows that someday never arrives. In a clip posted on YouTube, Tim sings a hilarious song about the junk drawer and the many things that likely reside in that location. Of course, like all good comedy, its funny because there is a lot of truth to it. Before singing the song, Tim points out how universal and widely used a junk drawer is. I know we got a lot of different people here from a lot of different backgrounds and stuff, he said. But thats what this song is about, how were the same. I bet you everybody in this room probably has one of these at your house right now. He then names some of the odd collection of objects youll probably find in your junk drawer. Canadian coins and a birthday candle Allen wrench and a suitcase handle Fourteen pens that dont work, a new note card and a button from a shirt An old antenna, a rubber band and a knob from an unknown door As usual, Tim has the audience in hysterics throughout his performance. And now, you are probably thinking about cleaning out your junk drawer to make room for the newest junk. Proverbs 17:22 A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.

Jeanne Robertson Hilarious Bit About Learning Sign Language

In this video, we see a clip of Jeanne Robertson, an American athlete, teacher, humorist, and motivational speaker. It is from her Looking for Humor DVD and in it, she tells the crowd about her experiences with sign language. She goes on to say that learning to use sign language is the most difficult thing she has ever attempted. And she probably isnt alone in that, as mastering another language, any language can be quite difficult. While Jeanne is talking she is also signing so we do know that she was eventually able to pick it up. She goes on to talk about how when you are learning the signs your brain takes them in vs what it is like for someone who is hearing-impaired and uses signs all of the time. She then tells us a story about how since she is a communicator herself she wanted to sign her name to those who needed an interpreter at her shows. She goes up to a group of them, signs her name and they start signing back. Being that at this time Jeanne only really knew how to sign her name, she did that again only to realize she should learn sign language as a whole. She told her husband of her plans, a man she refers to as Left Brain in her shows, and he decided he would learn sign language with her. She says that he then attacked learning sign language and that he made 1,800 flashcards. It seems as if Left Brain was able to learn the language more easily than Jeanne did. She then tells the audience that even though he memorized it, he was never able to master the art of turning his hand in the right direction when talking with a hearing-impaired person. She acts out what this looks like and how their friends have to walk behind him to understand him. That gets a lot of laughs and as she wraps up the clip she tells us one more story about being stuck in a Denver airport. She decides to take the time to practice her sign language in front of a mirror in the bathroom. Two teenage girls walk in and one asks the other what she is doing. The second teenager says, Dont you know anything? She cant hear. Shes talking to herself. Then the room erupts in more laughter before the clip is over. Jeanne uses humor to communicate to her audience. You can tell by the laughs, her content makes people very happy.
